How do I set up Quickcut Job Option in Acrobat 4.05 or 5.05?

Step 1

Launch Adobe Acrobat Distiller and select the Press Optimised Job Option in the pull down menu.

Go to Settings > Job Options in menu bar at the top. You will see a window that looks like the one below.

Although you can use Adobe Acrobat 4.05, 5.05 or 6 to create a suitable high res PDF, Adobe Acrobat 4 (1.3) compatibility must be chosen as not every publisher has Adobe Acrobat 4.05 or 5.05 at this stage.

Step 4

After setting to Acrobat 4.0 (PDF 1.3) click on “Save As” and rename the settings “Quickcut”. Save it in the default location - usually the Acrobat Settings folder.

These settings must be used when using Distiller to create a PDF for PageStore Transmission. If your Adobe Acrobat Distiller settings are incorrect your PDF will give unexpected results or may fail. Please see your Acrobat documentation for more information.
