What is QuickPrintPDF+?

QuickPrint PDF+ is a stand alone application that allows PDF files to be checked independently of any page make-up application. This allows not only the file originator, but also its recipient to check the file. QuickPrint PDF+ performs many integrity checks to ensure that documents meet the Publishers requirements, thus ensuring error free output at the destination.

These Requirements are entered and maintained in Quickcut's "Specs Manager" by the Publisher, the details of which are updated regularly into its local database file (QuickPrint.DB).

Additional ‘Publisher Contact’ information fields within QuickPrint PDF+ makes it more than just a checking tool. It becomes a source of information that can be used prior to and outside the production department. The management of color profiles adds further value to QuickPrint PDF+ and, in conjunction with the use of QuickcutICC, becomes a powerful solution to an emerging new market of colour management for the masses (as opposed to just the experts).

What does this mean for me?

It means that you can take ANY PDF created from any source application and check it against specific publishers' specifications. You will be warned about potential problems within the document should they exist.

What are the minimum requirements for QuickPrintPDF+?

Macintosh Users

OS9

    PowerPC G3 (G4 recommended).

    MacOS 9.1 or later (MacOS 9.2.1 Recommended)

    CarbonLib 1.6 or later

    128MB or higher of free RAM.

    All users must HAVE A FULL VERSION of Acrobat 4.05, 5.05 or 6.0 to create and preview PDFs.

OSX

    PowerPC G3 (G4 recommended).

    MacOS 10.2.6 or later

    256MB of installed RAM.

    All users must HAVE A FULL VERSION of Acrobat 4.05, 5.05 or 6.0 to create PDFs.

    Acrobat 5.05 or later may be used for Preview Generation. MacOSX 'Quartz' PDF rendering is also supported.

Windows Users

        Window 2000 Professional (Service Pack 3 recommended)

        NT4 (Service Pack 6 recommended)

        WindowsXP Professional (Service Pack 1 recommended)

        64MB or higher of free RAM.

What applications do I need to use QuickPrintPDF+?

Most users must HAVE A FULL VERSION of Acrobat 4.05, 5.05 or 6.0. If you are using OSX, 'Quartz' PDF rendering is supported and you do not necessarily need a full version of Acrobat to generate a preview. You may need it to create a PDF in the first place.
